Modern homes and a few other things...

Today I am sharing with all of yu a couple really amazing modern homes, well one of them is a center but about the same size as a giant house and its quite amazing.. What amazes me the most of this minimal modern contemporary style is its just simplistic approach to al things including interior decor, its so clean and just has the bare minimum.. In my opinion its the most versatile best design style of all time.. 


The reason I think this way is its ability to swallow up old past styles and even new emerging ones and make it part of itself. For instance many modern contemporary interior designs have traditional pieces throughout as accent furniture.. and that my friends is the key accent pieces with this style.. you can grab from any design style, past, present, or future, and add it to a corner, as armory piece, or simply make a room with it and still call it a modern contemporary home...

Simply an amazing center and great architecture and design. It also fits very perfectly with the surrounding landscape and scenery. They got it right here...

Modern & Remote: Bridge Studio

Are you the kind of person that gets a bit distracted? That can’t get any work done when there’s loud noises or people milling about? You might need to work in the Bridge Studio, by Sanders Architecture, located in the painfully beautiful but incredibly remote Deep Bay, the smallest community on Fogo Island, Canada.

“As with all the Fogo Island Arts Corporation’s Art Studios, Bridge Studio is paired with a traditional Newfoundland Saltbox house, this one is located in Deep Bay, the smallest community on Fogo Island with a population of one hundred and fifty people. The Bridge Studio’s Saltbox House is a freshly painted, in sharp contrast to its dilapidated condition, only a few months previous. A local carpenter who is putting the finishing touches on the house, points out the project’s double-hung, wood frame windows that were crafted at the local woodshop, initiated and operated by the Shorefast Foundation.”

The views, obviously. The simple treatment of the interior so that the level of distraction is minimalized. Just what you need: a desktop, a fireplace for warmth, maybe a little storage. It still seems very charming and soul-touching in the inside though, with just a hint of traditionalism in the wood walls and a few elements.

With a place like this to go to work, who would want to miss it. I would be there everyday and just feel at home and peaceful...

Soup Studio Design’s 

quirky Daiana Lamp

Love this quirky take on a floor lamp! Not only is it upside down, but the part that lights up is surprising! And it’s fun that the lampshade part then becomes a table. Not sure how functional it is with the current proportions, but it’s a fun little thing to add to an interior space to shake things up a bit. 

Lighting always seems to amaze me.... 

Mike Thompson’s 

crazy-cool & amazing lighting ideas

Artist? Designer? Genius? Mike Thompson has ideas about lighting. Really cool, future-forward, crazy ideas about lighting. He’s created a light called Blood Lamp that requires users to use their own blood to operate the light, in order to drive home the question of whether or not you really need to be using up that energy for lights. Then there’s Trap Light and Trace Light, which utilizes photoluminescent…oh, heck, let him explain:
“The Trace series of outdoor lamps sees designers Gionata Gatto and Mike Thompson revisit the same theme as last year’s Trap Light, this time with a completely new material investigation and design. Using photoluminescent pigments in combination with polyurethane rubbers, hand-made photoluminescent skins are developed to convert waste energy back into visible light. As darkness descends, a ghostly trace of light is revealed as the high concentration of photoluminescent pigments radiate recycled light energy as an intense, ambient glow. Trace S and Trace M, are charged either by the provided 5 watt LED light bulb or natural solar energy. Harnessing the natural power of the sun’s rays, and indeed any light in close proximity, Trace L shuns the use of electricity altogether, creating an intense ambient glow from recycled sunlight.”
