Fun week in Atlanta! More is More! May 3-9

Wow! There are so many great art/design/house events in Atlanta this week. SCADstyle is still going on and there are several great speakers early in the week. May 3 features Atlanta resident Laurie Ann Goldman, CEO of SPANX, and writer Julia Reed who was an editor at Vogue for 20 years. May 4 features Paula Wallace, chief creative officer at SCAD and author of Perfect Porches talking about her love of porches and the outdoor lifestyle. And on May 5 at 12:30pm there is a panel discussion called "Why One of a Kind Matters." It will feature discussions on handmade crafts and the emergence of ETSY in the marketplace.

On Tuesday, May 4 the Peachtree Battle Friends will host Peachtree Battle House and Garden Tour from 10-2pm. The tour benefits Childrens' Healthcare of Atlanta. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour. There are four houses on the tour:

174 Peachtree Battle Avenue
296 West Wesley Road NW - (lunch will be served at this home)
2502 Dellwood Drive NW
One West Muscogee Avenue

Also, on May 5 Belvedere, on Miami Circle, is hosting a cocktail reception at 7:30pm for Hutton Wilkinson, owner and creative director of Tony Duquette, Inc. author of Tony Duquette, and More is More:Tony Duquette. Wilkinson is collaborating with Jim Thompson, largest producer of handwoven fabrics in the world today, on an exclusive collection of woven and printed textiles. At the reception some of these fabrics will be featured on pieces from Belvedere. Hutton Wilkinson will also be signing his book. On Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7 Jane Douglas Reynolds and Felicia Huger are hosting jewelry designer Janet Gregg at Felicia's house. Please contact Jane Douglas at jdreynolds@me.com if you would like more information.
